Our Story

More Than a Furniture Store — Part of Rome's Story

Furniture of Rome has been a neighborhood staple since 1937. What started as a small, no-frills furniture shop on Shorter Avenue has grown into one of Rome's most trusted home furnishing destinations — and we're proud of that.

Over the decades, we've watched Rome change, families grow, and homes get renovated, moved into, and passed down. Through it all, our approach has stayed the same: bring in quality furniture at fair prices, treat every customer the way we'd want to be treated, and never make anyone feel rushed or pressured.

Today, our showroom is filled with pieces for every room and every budget. Whether you're furnishing your first apartment, upgrading your master bedroom, or just replacing that one chair your dog has been claiming as their own — we've got you covered.

Why Choose Us

The Furniture of Rome Difference

We're not the only option in Rome, but here's what keeps people coming back — and recommending us to friends and family.

We Take Our Time With You

No clock-watching, no "can I help you find something?" pressure. Browse at your own pace while our team is around whenever you have a question.

Prices That Make Sense

We keep our overhead reasonable so you do too. Quality furniture shouldn't require a second mortgage — we prove that every day.

Local Delivery You Can Count On

We deliver right to your door across the Rome area. Our team handles your furniture with care — because it's going to someone's home, not just a porch.

Real People, Real Relationships

We remember your name. We remember what you were looking for last time. This isn't a chain store — it's a business built on showing up and doing right by our neighbors.

A Showroom Worth Visiting

Online photos only tell part of the story. Come see the quality, feel the fabrics, and sit on the furniture — because the best way to know is to experience it in person.

Quality You Can Rely On

We carry pieces built to last — not just through the warranty, but through moves, kids, pets, and everyday life. That's how we've stayed open for 90 years.
